Jack Peñate - Pull My Heart Away

October 25th, 2009

Jack PenateThe young English chap, Jack Peñate, has had great feats in the Indie scene thus far in his music career.   His latest single “Pull My Heart Away”, is a slight departure from his earlier hits, such as “Torn on the Platform” or “Second, Minute or Hour”,  which are a bit more pop’ish running at some rapid BMP’s. Peñate’s vocals are truly something timeless and captivating. I eagerly await more remixes of “Pull My Heart Away”. dLux.

Major Lazer - Keep It Goin’ Louder (Video)

October 11th, 2009

Major LazerI still haven’t put my finger on the “sound” of Major Lazer; and their new single, Keep It Goin’ Louder, furthers the ambiguity.  Nonetheless, Keep It Goin’ Louder, which features Nina Sky and Ricky Blaze, has been climbing the charts in my books. The song is dangerously too pop’ish but after seeing the video and hearing vocals from Nina Sky, I can’t help but put the song on repeat. I’m not sure of the roles Switch and/or Diplo played in creating this song but it does seem to be their attempt to getting more national radio play-which I think is very possible, especially with the Nina Sky stamp. Check out the greatly produced video and the remix. dLux

DJ Falcon (Video From Denver Show 5/15/09)

May 17th, 2009

DJ Falcon, part of the Daft Punk crew played at Beta Nightclub in Denver Friday night. I’m not even gonna lie, that was one of the funnest DJ sets I’ve ever heard. Falcon’s spectrum of music was never-ending playing everything from Phoenix’s 1901 to J-Kwon’s Tipsy. A truly versatile DJ, something I did not expect coming from a French (and somewhat low-key) native. dLux

LoveNBombs mashup Teaser

May 10th, 2009

ya i know.. it’s been waaaaay too long without a post but i have been traveling like a dog the past little bit so my sincere apologies. anyways as a teaser for my album that’s going to release this summer i threw the vocals of my track loveNbombs over the deadmau5 banger catbread. it’s the dj edit so it has 2 minutes of fluff on both ends of the track however the song rips and the vocals fit it too well! so enjoi a spicy version of catbread and if anyone wants the splits of just the vocals to play around with, feel free to contact me at optionfour@gmail.com. i’m like a mullet on both sides all party no bizness~ opt4

The Bloody Beetroots & Crookers (Videos From Denver Show 4/16/09)

April 18th, 2009

What an epic night–April 16th, that is. DJ Hot To Death kicked it off with a banger set and was later accompanied by Yonnas. Their set was followed by Boyhollow who most definitely delivered. Next, The Bloody Beetroots, who I’m going to blame for my destroyed calve muscles, put the crowd into a frenzy with their classics and remixes. The crowd surfing continued into the Crookers set. The Crookers dropped their Day N Nite remix (which, dare I say, put Kid Cudi on the map) and their many other hits. The following are a couple videos of many-hopefully I’ll get sometime to upload more later. The sound quality is pretty bad but you’ll get the idea. dLux

D.I.M.

April 18th, 2009

if you don’t know this guy then more than likely you died in 2007. he dominated the german dance/techno/electro scene that year and since has released quality remixes from a variety of artists. everyone from sven vath to justice fell in love with D.I.M.’s sound, not to mention his production partner boys noize (together they make PUZIQUe). having remixed the presets, chromeo, fisherspooner, midnight juggernauts, teenage bad girl and the faint, D.I.M. is one of the most in demand remix artists on the planet. his most successful song to date however was the relentless, “is you” on boys noize records, which remains a club favorite for techno and electro heads alike. my personal favorite is his remix of tiga’s version of ’sunglasses at night’ which i’ve dropped in sets for a long time and have always had good success with. he just released a remix of fischerspooners ’supply & demand’ and since fischerspooner is coming to denver soon it seemed like the perfect time to throw it up. option4~
